Peerage Record – 1939

     Janet Cuninghame was born circa 1530 at CAprington, Riccarton, Ayrshire, Scotland.² She was the daughter of Sir John Cuninghame, 4th of Caprington and Annabella Campbell.^1,3 She married Alexander Cuninghame, 5th Earl of Glencairn, son of William Cuninghame, 4th Earl of Glencairn and Catherine Borthwick, circa 22 January 1549/50.⁴

     Sir John Cuninghame, 4th of Caprington was the son of Sir Adam Cuninghame, 3rd of Caprington and Isobel Craufurd.² He married, secondly, Elizabeth Cuninghame, daughter of William Cuninghame, 4th Earl of Glencairn and Catherine Borthwick.³ He married, firstly, Annabella Campbell, daughter of Sir George Campbell of Loudoun and Marion Auchinleck, circa 1517.^2,4 He died in 1564.²
     He lived at Caprington, Scotland^G.¹ In 1564 he had a barter from Queen Mary erecting Caprington into a barony.²

     Lady Agnes Keith was the daughter of William Keith, 2nd Earl Marischal and Lady Elizabeth Gordon.² She married Sir Archibald Douglas, 1st of Glenbervie, son of Sir William Douglas and Elizabeth Auchinleck, before 1532.³ She died circa 1548.⁴
     From before 1532, her married name became Douglas.³

     Matilda Catherine Maude Ward was born on 3 May 1858 at 29 Half Moon Street, Piccadilly, London, England^G.² She was the daughter of Robert Edward Ward and Harriette Ward.¹ She married John George Barry Bingham, 5th Baron Clanmorris of Newbrook, son of John Charles Robert Bingham, 4th Baron Clanmorris of Newbrook and Sarah Selina Persse, on 27 June 1878 at Bangor, County Down, Ireland^G.² She died on 14 February 1941 at age 82.¹
     After her marriage, Matilda Catherine Maude Ward was styled as Baroness Clanmorris of Newbrook on 27 June 1878. From 27 June 1878, her married name became Bingham.

     Robert Edward Ward was born on 10 November 1818.¹ He was the son of Michael Edward Ward and Lady Matilda Stewart.¹ He married Harriette Ward, daughter of Reverend Hon. Henry Ward and Anne Mahon, on 30 April 1857.¹ He died on 29 November 1904 at age 86.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 10th Hussars.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Bangor Castle, County Down, Ireland^G.¹

     Lady Margaret Seton is the daughter of Alexander Seton, 1st Earl of Dunfermline and Lilias Drummond.^1,2 She married Colin Mackenzie, 1st Earl of Seaforth, son of Kenneth Mackenzie, 1st Lord Mackenzie of Kintail and Jean Anne Ross, on 5 June 1614.³
     From 5 June 1614, her married name became Mackenzie.

     Ursula Duncombe was the daughter of Alexander Duncombe and Mary Paulye.^1,2 She married John Brown in 1678.³
     She inherited the other half of her brother Sir Charles Duncombe’s fortune.³ From 1678, her married name became Duncombe.

     Alexander Duncombe was baptised on 13 May 1619.¹ He was the son of William Duncombe and Margaret Theed.² He married Mary Paulye, daughter of Richard Paulye, on 15 May 1645.¹
     He was also known as Anthony Duncombe.³ He was probably steward to Sir William Tiringham or Tyringham, of Tiringham, Buckinghamshire.¹ He lived at Drayton, Buckinghamshire, England^G.¹

     Anne Williams was born circa 1657 at Penrhyn, Caernarvonshire, Wales^G.² She was the daughter of Sir Robert Williams, 2nd Bt. and Jane Glynne.^1,2 She married Thomas Warburton, son of Sir George Warburton, 1st Bt., on 21 December 1677 at Saint John The Baptist, Chester, Cheshire, England^G.²
     From 21 December 1677, her married name became Warburton.

     Sir Robert Williams, 2nd Bt. was born in 1629.² He was the son of Sir Griffith Williams, 1st Bt. and Gwen Bodwrda.³ He married, firstly, Jane Glynne, daughter of Sir John Glynne and Frances Squibb, in 1652.⁴ He married, secondly, Frances Barkham, daughter of Sir Edward Barkham, 1st Bt., on 12 June 1671 at St. Andrews, Holborn, London, England^G.⁴ He died on 10 December 1680.⁴
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Caenarvonshire between 1656 and 1658.⁴ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Caenarvon in 1659.⁴ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Williams, of Penrhyn, co. Caernarvon [E., 1661] on 3 December 1663.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Caernarvonshire from 1669 to 1670.⁴
