William Cuninghame, 5th of Caprington was the son of Sir John Cuninghame, 4th of Caprington and Annabella Campbell.2 He married Agnes Hamilton, daughter of Sir William Hamilton of Sanquhar and Katherine Kennedy, on 24 February 1542.2 He died after 1583.2

Sir John Maxwell of Cowglen was born in 1524.1 He was the son of George Maxwell of Cowglen and Janet Maxwell of Tinwald.2 He and Elizabeth Maxwell of Pollok obtained a marriage license on 31 August 1535.1 He died on 20 February 1577.1
