In 1538 his lands were erected into a barony.4 He lived at Glenbervie, ScotlandG.2 He had another son and two daughters by his third wife.5

He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Angus [S., 1389] on 4 August 1588.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of Nationary Biography.3

Lady Anne Keith1,2 

Lady Anne Keith was the daughter of William Keith, 3rd Earl Marischal and Margaret Keith.4,5 She married James Stewart, 1st Earl of Moray, son of James V Stewart, King of Scotland and Margaret Erskine, on 8 February 1561/62.5 She married, secondly, Colin Campbell, 6th Earl of Argyll, son of Archibald Campbell, 4th Earl of Argyll and Lady Margaret Graham, between 13 January 1571 and 26 February 1572.6,7 She died on 16 July 1588 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.5 She was buried at St. Gile’s Church, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.6 Her will was proven (by probate) on 9 August 1591 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.6
She was also known as Annabel.6 After her marriage, Lady Anne Keith was styled as Countess of Moray on 8 February 1561/62. From 8 February 1561/62, her married name became Stewart. From 6 February 1571/72, her married name became Campbell. On 25 April 1573 she was excommunicated for non-adherence to her husband.6 After her marriage, Lady Anne Keith was styled as Countess of Argyll on 12 September 1573.

John Hay, 3rd Lord Hay of Yester1 
On 7 October 1509 he had a charter of the lands of Hoprew, Peebles-shire.2 He was appointed Knight before 10 June 1510.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Hay of Yester [S., 1488] on 9 September 1513.1
