On 30 July 1511 he had a charter of Skipness in the Sheriffdom of Tarbart from his father.2 He lived at Skipnish, ScotlandG.1 In 1537 at Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, he was imprisoned.2

Sir James Douglas, 7th of Drumlanrig1 
In June 1526 he joined his cousin Sir Walter Scott of Buccleuch in trying to rescue King Jmes V from the Earl of Angus.2 He was appointed Knight in 1533.2 He held the office of Warden of the West March from 1553 to 1554.2 He lived at Drumlanrig, ScotlandG.1

Lady Jane Douglas1

Lady Jane Douglas was born on 17 March 1698 at Douglas, ScotlandG.3 She was the daughter of James Douglas, 2nd Marquess of Douglas and Lady Mary Kerr.1 She married Sir John Stewart of Grandtully, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Thomas Stewart of Balcaskie, 1st Bt. and Lady Jean Mackenzie, on 4 August 1746 in a secret marriage.1 She died on 22 November 1753 at age 55 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.3
From 4 August 1746, her married name became Stewart.
