Lady Mary Bruce was the daughter of Alexander Bruce, 2nd Earl of Kincardine and Veronica van Aersen.1,3 She married William Cochrane, son of Sir John Cochrane and Margaret Strickland, on 19 April 1681.1
Her married name became Cochrane. In 1705 she unsuccessfully claimed the Earldom of Kincardine.1
