Henry Perkins Wolrige1 
He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn entitled to practise as a barrister.1 On 8 July 1864 his name was legally changed to Henry Perkins Gordon Wolrige by Deed Poll.2 On 17 March 1873 his name was legally changed to Henry Perkins Wolrige Gordon by Deed Poll.2 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in 1895 in the 2nd Volunteer Battalion, Gordon Highlanders.1 He greatly increased the Esselmont estate by purchasing various outlying parts.1

He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the North-West Frontier between 1897 and 1898.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Aberdeenshire.1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 28 February 1907.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Brevet-Colonel between 1914 and 1919 in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1918.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the 5th Battalion, Gordon Highlanders.1
