     Frances Scudamore was born on 14 August 1711.¹ She was the daughter of James Scudamore, 3rd Viscount Scudamore and Hon. Frances Digby.¹ She married, firstly, Henry Scudamore, 3rd Duke of Beaufort, son of Henry Somerset, 2nd Duke of Beaufort and Rachel Noel, on 28 June 1729 at Holland House^G.¹ She and Henry Scudamore, 3rd Duke of Beaufort were divorced on 2 March 1743/44 by Act of Parliament, for ‘crim. con.¹‘ She married, secondly, Charles Fitzroy-Scudamore, son of Charles Fitzroy, 2nd Duke of Grafton.¹ She died on 16 February 1749/50 at age 38, in childbed.¹ She was buried at Holme Lacy, Herefordshire, England^G.¹
     After her marriage, Frances Scudamore was styled as Duchess of Beaufort on 28 June 1729. She and William Talbot, 1st Earl Talbot were associated eloped even though both were married at the time.¹

     Elizabeth Berkeley was born circa 1719.³ She was the daughter of John Symes Berkeley and Elizabeth Norborne.^1,3 She married Charles Noel Somerset, 4th Duke of Beaufort, son of Henry Somerset, 2nd Duke of Beaufort and Rachel Noel, on 1 May 1740 at St. George’s Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England^G.¹ She died on 8 April 1799 at Hanover Square, Mayfair, London, England^G.³ Her will (dated 11 May 1785 to 25 June 1795) was proven (by probate) on 30 April 1799.⁴
     Her married name became Somerset. After her marriage, Elizabeth Berkeley was styled as Duchess of Beaufort on 24 February 1744/45.

     John Symes Berkeley was born before 1671. He was the son of Richard Berkeley.² He married Elizabeth Norborne, daughter of Walter Norborne and Frances Bacon, after 1700. He died on 13 December 1736.³
     He lived at Stoke Gifford, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He lived at Stoke Gifford, Gloucestershire, England^G.⁴

     Norborne Berkeley, 4th Lord Botetourt was the son of John Symes Berkeley and Elizabeth Norborne.¹ He died on 15 October 1770 at Virginia, U.S.A.^G.² He was buried at College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia, U.S.A.^G.² His will was proven (by probate) on 10 January 1771.³
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Gloucestershire between 1741 and 1763.⁴ He held the office of Groom of the Bedchamber between 1760 and 1764.⁴ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire between 1762 and 1766.⁴ He succeeded as the 4th Lord Botetourt [E., 1305] on 13 April 1764.² His last will was dated 26 July 1766. He held the office of Governor of Virginia between 1768 and 1770.²
     On his death, the Barony of Botetourt again fell into abeyance.²

     Lady Susan Caroline Eliot was born on 12 April 1801. She was the daughter of William Eliot, 2nd Earl of Saint Germans and Lady Georgiana Augusta Leveson-Gower.¹ She married General Henry Beauchamp Lygon, 4th Earl Beauchamp, son of William Lygon, 1st Earl Beauchamp and Catharine Denn, on 8 July 1824 at St. George’s Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England^G.¹ She died on 15 January 1835 at age 33 at Port Eliot, Cornwall, England^G.¹
     Her married name became Lygon.

     Henry Lygon, 5th Earl Beauchamp was born on 13 February 1829.¹ He was the son of General Henry Beauchamp Lygon, 4th Earl Beauchamp and Lady Susan Caroline Eliot.¹ He died on 4 March 1866 at age 37 at 13 Belgrave Square, London, England^G, unmarried, from consumption.¹
     He gained the rank of Cornet in 1848 in the First Life Guards.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for West Worcestershire between 1853 and 1863.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1854.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Viscount Elmley [U.K., 1815] on 8 September 1863.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baron Beauchamp of Powyk, co. Gloucestershire [U.K., 1806] on 8 September 1863.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Earl Beauchamp [U.K., 1815] on 8 September 1863.¹

     Frederick Lygon, 6th Earl Beauchamp was born on 10 November 1830.¹ He was the son of General Henry Beauchamp Lygon, 4th Earl Beauchamp and Lady Susan Caroline Eliot.¹ He married, firstly, Lady Mary Catherine Stanhope, daughter of Philip Henry Stanhope, 5th Earl Stanhope and Emily Harriet Kerrison, on 18 February 1868 at St. George’s Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England^G.² He married, secondly, Lady Emily Annora Charlotte Pierrepont, daughter of Sydney William Herbert Pierrepont, 3rd Earl Manvers and Georgiana Jane Elizabeth Fanny de Franquetot, on 24 September 1878 at Perlethorpe, Nottinghamshire, England^G.² He died on 19 February 1891 at age 60 at Madresfield Court, Worcestershire, England^G, suddenly, at dinner, from heart disease.² His will was proven (by probate), at £114,741.²

     Lady Mary Catherine Stanhope was born on 3 February 1844.² She was the daughter of Philip Henry Stanhope, 5th Earl Stanhope and Emily Harriet Kerrison.^1,2 She married Frederick Lygon, 6th Earl Beauchamp, son of General Henry Beauchamp Lygon, 4th Earl Beauchamp and Lady Susan Caroline Eliot, on 18 February 1868 at St. George’s Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England^G.² She died on 30 June 1876 at age 32.²
     From 18 February 1868, her married name became Lygon. After her marriage, Lady Mary Catherine Stanhope was styled as Countess Beauchamp on 18 February 1868.
     According to Lady St. Helier, she was “a remarkable woman, clever, accomplished, well educated, with a great deal of her father’s gift of conversation, and love of Society.”²

     Philip Henry Stanhope, 5th Earl Stanhope was born on 30 January 1805.² He was the son of Philip Henry Stanhope, 4th Earl Stanhope and Hon. Catherine Lucy Smith.² He married Emily Harriet Kerrison, daughter of General Sir Edward Kerrison, 1st Bt., on 10 July 1834.² He died on 24 December 1875 at age 70.²
     He succeeded as the 5th Viscount Stanhope of Mahon, in the island of Minorca [G.B., 1717] on 2 March 1855.² He succeeded as the 5th Earl Stanhope [G.B., 1718] on 2 March 1855.² He succeeded as the 5th Baron Stanhope of Elvaston, co. Derby [G.B., 1717] on 2 March 1855.²

     Lady Emily Annora Charlotte Pierrepont was born on 16 March 1853.¹ She was the daughter of Sydney William Herbert Pierrepont, 3rd Earl Manvers and Georgiana Jane Elizabeth Fanny de Franquetot.¹ She married Frederick Lygon, 6th Earl Beauchamp, son of General Henry Beauchamp Lygon, 4th Earl Beauchamp and Lady Susan Caroline Eliot, on 24 September 1878 at Perlethorpe, Nottinghamshire, England^G.¹ She died on 11 May 1935 at age 82 at Sunningdale, Berkshire, England^G.²
     From 24 September 1878, her married name became Lygon. After her marriage, Lady Emily Annora Charlotte Pierrepont was styled as Countess Beauchamp on 24 September 1878.
