     Eupheme Scott was the daughter of Sir William Scott and Jean Skene.1 She married William Cochrane, 1st Earl of Dundonald, son of Alexander Cochrane and Elizabeth Cochrane, after 14 April 1633.1
     Her married name became Cochrane. After her marriage, Eupheme Scott was styled as Baroness Cochrane of Dundonald on 26 December 1647. After her marriage, Eupheme Scott was styled as Countess of Dundonald on 12 May 1669.

     Lady Catherine Kennedy was the daughter of John Kennedy, 6th Earl of Cassillis and Lady Jean Hamilton.1 She married William Cochrane, Lord Cochrane, son of William Cochrane, 1st Earl of Dundonald and Eupheme Scott, in 1653.1 She died circa February 1700.1 She was buried on 15 February 1700.1
     Her married name became Cochrane.

     He held the office of Joint-Keeper of the Signet in 1711.1 He lived at Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, ScotlandG.1

     James Graham, 2nd Marquess of Montrose was born in 1633.1 He was the son of James Graham, 1st Marquess of Montrose and Lady Magdalen Carnegie.1 He married Lady Isabel Douglas, daughter of William Douglas, 7th Earl of Morton and Lady Anne Keith, on 20 December 1656.1 He died in February 1669.1 He was buried on 23 April 1669.
     James Graham, 2nd Marquess of Montrose also went by the nick-name of James ‘the Good’.1 He succeeded as the 6th Earl of Montrose [S., 1503] on 21 May 1650.1 He succeeded as the 8th Lord Graham [S., 1445] on 21 May 1650.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Marquess of Montrose [S., 1644] on 21 May 1650.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Kincardine [S., 1644] on 21 May 1650.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Graham and Mugdock [S., 1644] on 21 May 1650.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in February 1660/61.1 He held the office of Extraordinary Lord of Session in 1668.1

     Lady Isabel Douglas was the daughter of William Douglas, 7th Earl of Morton and Lady Anne Keith.1 She married, firstly, Robert Ker, 1st Earl of Roxburghe, son of Sir William Ker of Cessford and Janet Douglas.1 She married, secondly, James Graham, 2nd Marquess of Montrose, son of James Graham, 1st Marquess of Montrose and Lady Magdalen Carnegie, on 20 December 1656.1
     After her marriage, Lady Isabel Douglas was styled as Countess of Roxburghe. Her married name became Ker.1 From 20 December 1656, her married name became Graham. After her marriage, Lady Isabel Douglas was styled as Marchioness of Montrose on 20 December 1656.

     Sir John Cochrane was the son of William Cochrane, 1st Earl of Dundonald and Eupheme Scott.1 He married Margaret Strickland, daughter of Sir William Strickland, 1st Bt. and Margaret Cholmley, in March 1656.1 He died after 23 June 1707.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ayrshire [Scotland] in 1669.1 In 1683 he was suspected of complicity int he Rye House Plot, and fled to Holland.1 In 1685 he returned to Scotland and took part in Argyll’s uprising. He was imprisoned and his lands confiscated.1 In 1690 he was restored to his estates.1 He lived at Ochiltree, ScotlandG.1

Margaret Strickland1
