Lady Caroline Maria Montagu was born on 10 August 1770.3 She was the daughter of George Montagu, 4th Duke of Manchester and Elizabeth Dashwood.1 She married James Graham, 3rd Duke of Montrose, son of William Graham, 2nd Duke of Montrose and Lady Lucy Manners, on 24 July 1790.1 She died on 24 March 1847 at age 76 at Petersham, Surrey, EnglandG.3
From 24 July 1790, her married name became Graham. After her marriage, Lady Caroline Maria Montagu was styled as Duchess of Montrose on 23 September 1790.

George Montagu, 4th Duke of Manchester was born on 6 April 1737.3 He was the son of Robert Montagu, 3rd Duke of Manchester and Harriet Dunch.1 He married Elizabeth Dashwood, daughter of Sir James Dashwood, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Spencer, on 23 October 1762 at St. Georges Hanover Square, Westminster, London, EnglandG.3 He died on 2 September 1788 at age 51.1
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Huntingdonshire between 1761 and 1762.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Huntingdonshire between 1762 and 1788.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baron Kimbolton of Kimbolton, co.
