He was given the name of George Granville Leveson-Gower at birth.3 He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) Lady Harriet Elizabeth Georgiana Howard was born on 21 May 1806.3 She was the daughter of George Howard, 6th Earl of Carlisle and Lady Georgiana Dorothy Cavendish.1 She married George Granville Sutherland-Leveson-Gower, 2nd Duke of Sutherland, son of George Granville Leveson-Gower, 1st Duke of Sutherland and Elizabeth Sutherland, Countess of Sutherland, on 28 May 1823.4 She died on 27 October 1868 at age 62.4
Her married name became Leveson-Gower. She was appointed Lady, Royal Order of Victoria and Albert (V.A.)5 She held the office of Mistress of the Robes to HM Queen Victoria.5
