He was educated between 19 April 1763 and 1767 at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Nairnshire between 1777 and 1780.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Cardigan between 1780 and 1796.1 He was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.) on 19 June 1794.1,5 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) on 4 June 1795.1,5 He was created 1st Baron Cawdor of Castlemartin, co. Pembroke [Great Britain] on 21 June 1796.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1799.5 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.) by Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 3 July 1810.1,3

Lady Isabella Caroline Howard1,2

Lady Isabella Caroline Howard was born on 3 September 1771.2 She was the daughter of Frederick Howard, 5th Earl of Carlisle and Lady Margaret Caroline Leveson-Gower.4 She married John Campbell of Cawdor, 1st Baron Cawdor of Castlemartin, son of Pryse Campbell and Sarah Bacon, on 28 July 1789 at Grosvenor Place, London, EnglandG.1,2 She died on 8 March 1848 at age 76 at Twickenham, London, EnglandG.1,2 Her will was proven (by probate) in April 1848.2
Her married name became Campbell. After her marriage, Lady Isabella Caroline Howard was styled as Baroness Cawdor of Castlemartin on 21 June 1796.

Elizabeth Marsham was born on 15 August 1711.3 She was the daughter of Robert Marsham, 1st Baron of Romney and Elizabeth Shovell.1 She married Jacob des Bouverie, 1st Viscount Folkestone, son of Sir William des Bouverie, 1st Bt. and Anne Urry, on 21 April 1741 at Swanscombe, Kent, EnglandG.1 She died on 25 September 1782 at age 71.4
Her married name became des Bouverie. After her marriage, Hon. Elizabeth Marsham was styled as Viscountess Folkestone on 29 June 1747.

Robert Marsham, 1st Baron of Romney1 
He was educated at St. John’s College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Marsham, of Whorn’s Place, Cuxton, Kent [E., 1663] on 26 July 1703.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Maidstone between 1708 and 1716.2 He was created 1st Baron of Romney, co. Kent [Great Britain] on 22 June 1716.2 He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of Dover Castle in 1717.2
