Thomas Grosvenor Egerton, 2nd Earl of Wilton of Wilton Castle1 
He was given the name of Thomas Grosvenor at birth.2 He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, England.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Wilton of Wilton Castle, co. Hereford [U.K., 1801] on 23 September 1814.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Grey de Wilton [U.K., 1801] on 23 September 1814.1 On 27 November 1821 his name was legally changed to Thomas Egerton by Royal Licence.2 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1834 with a Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.)2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1835.2 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Hanoverian Order (G.C.H.) in 1835.2 He was Lord Steward of the Household between January 1835 and April 1835.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1840 in the London Militia Light Infantry.2
