General Isaac Gascoyne was born on 21 August 1763 at Barking, Essex, England.3,2 He was the son of Bamber Gascoyne and Mary Greene.3,4 He married Mary Williamson on 1 July 1794 at St. James the Less, Thorndike Street, St. Marylebone, London, England.4 He died on 26 August 1841 at age 78 at 71 Audley Street, London, EnglandG, from an inflammatory attack.3
He was educated at Felsted School, Dunmow, Essex, England.5 He was commissioned on 8 February 1779 with the rank of Ensign, in the service of the 20th Foot.3 He gained the rank of Ensign in July 1780 in the Coldstream Guards.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 18 August 1784.3 He gained the rank of Captain on 5 December 1792.3 He fought in the Battle of Lincelles in 1793, where he was wounded.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Liverpool between 1796 and 4 May 1831.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel on 7 June 1799 in the 16th Foot.3 He gained the rank of Major-General on 29 April 1802.3 He was Colonel of the 7th West India Regiment on 10 October 1805.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General on 25 April 1808.3 He was Colonel of the 54th Foot on 1 June 1816.3 He gained the rank of General on 12 August 1819.5 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3

Arthur Annesley, 11th Viscount of Valentia was born on 23 August 1843.3 He was the son of Hon. Arthur Annesley and Flora Mary Macdonald.3 He married Laura Sarah Webb, daughter of Daniel Hale Webb, on 30 January 1878.3 He died on 20 January 1927 at age 83.1
He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, London, England.3 He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Annesley, of Mountnorris, co. Armagh [I., 1620] on 30 December 1863.3 He succeeded as the 11th Viscount of Valentia, co. Kerry [I., 1622] on 30 December 1863.3 He succeeded as the 11th Baron Mountnorris, of Mountnorris, co. Armagh [I., 1629] on 30 December 1863.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1864 in the 10th Hussars.3 He held the office of High Sheriff for Oxfordshire in 1874.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Oxford between 1885 and 1917.3 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Oxfordshire.3 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)3 He was Comptroller of the Household between 1898 and 1905.3 He fought in the Boer War in 1900, where he was mentioned in despatches.3 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1900.3 He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 1901.3 He held the office of Lord-in-Waiting between 1915 and 1924.3 He was created 1st Baron Annesley, of Bletchington, co.
