Stafford [U.K., 1806] on 18 March 1854.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Lichfield, co. Stafford [U.K., 1831] on 18 March 1854.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire between 1863 and 1871.1

(Whig) for Yarmouth between June 1818 and July 1818.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Soberton, of Soberton, co. Southampton [U.K., 1806] on 31 July 1818.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Anson, of Shugborough and Orgrave, co. Stafford [U.K., 1806] on 31 July 1818.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1830.2 He was created 1st Earl of Lichfield, co. Stafford [U.K.] on 15 September 1831.2 He held the office of Postmaster-General between 1835 and 1841, when the penny-post was introduced.2 He held the office of High Steward of Yarmouth between 1836 and 1854.2
