Lady Margaret Hay was born on 12 December 1769. She was the daughter of James Hay, 15th Earl of Erroll and Isabella Carr.3 She married Charles Cameron, son of Donald Cameron and Mary Guy, on 6 August 1789.1 She died in 1832.1
From 6 August 1789, her married name became Cameron.

James Hay, 15th Earl of Erroll1

James Hay, 15th Earl of Erroll was born on 20 April 1726 at Falkirk, ScotlandG.3 He was the son of William Boyd, 4th Earl of Kilmarnock and Lady Anne Livingston.1 He married, firstly, Rebecca Lockhart, daughter of Alexander Lockhart, Lord Covington, on 15 September 1749.1 He married, secondly, Isabella Carr, daughter of Sir William Carr, in 1762.1 He died on 3 July 1778 at age 52 at Callendar HouseG.3
He was given the name of James Boyd at birth.1 He was styled as Lord Boyd between 1728 and 1746.4 He fought in the Battle of Culloden on 16 April 1746, for the English, on opposing side from his father.4 In 1751 he was allowed to inherit Kilmarnock lands.4 On 19 August 1758 his name was legally changed to James Hay.4 He succeeded as the 15th Earl of Erroll [S., 1452] on 19 August 1758.1 He succeeded as the 16th Lord Hay [S., 1430] on 19 August 1758.1 He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1770 and 1774.1
