     Sir William Douglas of Drumlanrig, younger was the son of Sir James Douglas, 7th of Drumlanrig and Christian Montgomerie. He married Margaret Gordon, daughter of Sir James Gordon of Lochinvar and Margaret Crichton.² He died on 25 September 1572.³
     He lived at Hawick, Roxburghshire, Scotland^G.² He fought in the Battle of Langside in 1568.²

     Margaret Gordon was the daughter of Sir James Gordon of Lochinvar and Margaret Crichton.¹ She married Sir William Douglas of Drumlanrig, younger, son of Sir James Douglas, 7th of Drumlanrig and Christian Montgomerie.² She died in January 1581.³
     Her married name became Douglas.

     Sir John Gordon of Lochinvar was the son of William de Gordon, 1st of Lochinvar.² He married, firstly, Annabella Boyd, daughter of Robert Boyd, 1st Lord Boyd of Kilmarnock and Mariot Maxwell.³ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Lindsay before 19 May 1489.⁴ He died after 11 May 1517.⁵
     He lived at Lochinvar, Scotland^G.¹

     James Douglas, 8th of Drumlanrig was the son of Sir William Douglas of Drumlanrig, younger and Margaret Gordon.² He married Mary Fleming, daughter of John Fleming, 5th Lord Fleming.¹ He died on 16 October 1616.¹

     Mary Fleming was the daughter of John Fleming, 5th Lord Fleming.¹ She married James Douglas, 8th of Drumlanrig, son of Sir William Douglas of Drumlanrig, younger and Margaret Gordon.¹
     Her married name became Douglas.¹

     John Fleming, 5th Lord Fleming was born in 1537 at Biggar, Lanarkshire, Scotland.¹ He was the son of Malcolm Fleming, 3rd Lord Fleming and Janet Stewart. He died on 6 September 1572 at Biggar, Lanarkshire, Scotland.¹
     He gained the title of 5th Lord Fleming.

     Lady Louisa Anne Douglas was the daughter of Charles Douglas, 6th Marquess of Queensberry and Lady Caroline Scott.¹ She married Thomas Charlton Whitmore, son of Thomas Whitmore and Catherine Thomason, on 11 April 1833.² She died on 31 August 1871.²
     Her married name became Whitmore.

     Lt.-Col. Hon. Henry Walter Hepburn-Stuart-Forbes-Trefusis was born on 8 December 1864.¹ He was the son of Charles Henry Rolle Hepburn-Stuart-Forbes-Trefusis, 20th Lord Clinton and Harriet Williamina Hepburn-Forbes.² He married Lady Mary Lygon, daughter of Frederick Lygon, 6th Earl Beauchamp and Lady Mary Catherine Stanhope, on 6 May 1905.¹ He died on 2 June 1948 at age 83.¹
     He was Aide-de-Camp to General commanding Troops in Hong Kong between 1898 and 1903.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Cornwall.¹ He was Deputy Warden of the Stannaries.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cornwall.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Scots Guards.¹ He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 4th Battalion, Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry
between 1909 and 1914.¹ He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 9th Battalion between 1914 and 1916.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Cornwall in 1923.¹

     Lady Mary Elizabeth Douglas was born circa 1808.² She was the daughter of Charles Douglas, 6th Marquess of Queensberry and Lady Caroline Scott.^1,2 She married Reverend Thomas Wentworth Gage, son of John Gage and Mary Milbanke, on 17 February 1831.¹ She died on 16 May 1888.¹
     Her married name became Gage.

     Reverend Thomas Wentworth Gage was the son of John Gage and Mary Milbanke.¹ He married Lady Mary Elizabeth Douglas, daughter of Charles Douglas, 6th Marquess of Queensberry and Lady Caroline Scott, on 17 February 1831.¹ He died on 19 March 1837.¹
