William Hay, 6th Lord Hay of Yester1 
He succeeded as the 6th Lord Hay of Yester [S., 1488] in August 1586.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1589.1 On 21 February 1590/91 he received a regrant of his lands and honours with limitation to his heirs male.1

John Hay, 4th Lord Hay of Yester1 
He succeeded as the 4th Lord Hay of Yester [S., 1488] circa July 1543.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) before 25 June 1545.1 He fought in the Battle of Pinkie on 10 September 1547, where he was captured by the English.1 He held the office of Provost of Peebles in 1555.1
