Eric Reginald Lubbock, 4th Baron Avebury was born on 29 September 1928.1 He was the son of Hon. Maurice Fox Pitt Lubbock and Hon. Mary Katherine Adelaide Stanley.3,1 He married, firstly, Kina-Maria O’Kelly de Gallagh, daughter of Count Joseph Henry O’Kelly de Gallagh, on 2 September 1953.1 He and Kina-Maria O’Kelly de Gallagh were divorced in 1983.1 He married, secondly, Lindsay Jean Stewart, daughter of Gordon Neil Stewart and Pamela Hansford Johnson, in 1985.1 He died on 14 February 2016 at age 87.4
He was educated at Upper Canada College, Toronto, Ontario, CanadaG.5 He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.5 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)5 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1949 in the Welsh Guards.5 He was a production manager for Rolls-Royce between 1951 and 1956.5 He was a production engineer between 1956 and 1960.5 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Orpington between 1962 and 1970.5 He held the office of Liberal Whip between 1963 and 1970.5 He was Chairman of Digico Ltd in 1971.5 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Avebury, of Avebury, Wiltshire [U.K., 1900] on 21 June 1971.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Lubbock, of London [U.K., 1806] on 21 June 1971.5 He was a member of the the Royal Commission on Standards of Conduct in Public Life between 1974 and 1976.5
