Elizabeth Colyear1

Elizabeth Colyear was the daughter of Lt.-Gen. Walter Philip Colyear.1 She married Lionel Cranfield Sackville, 1st Duke of Dorset, son of Charles Sackville, 6th Earl of Dorset and Mary Compton, in January 1708/9.3 She died on 12 June 1768.3
She held the office of Maid of Honour to Queen Anne and First Lady of the Bedchamber.3 She held the office of Mistress of the Robes to Queen Caroline.3 After her marriage, Elizabeth Colyear was styled as Countess of Dorset in January 1708/9. Her married name became Sackville. After her marriage, Elizabeth Colyear was styled as Duchess of Dorset on 13 June 1720.

Mary Compton was born in 1669.2 She was the daughter of James Compton, 3rd Earl of Northampton and Hon. Mary Noel.3 She married Charles Sackville, 6th Earl of Dorset, son of Richard Sackville, 5th Earl of Dorset and Frances Cranfield, on 7 March 1685.4 She died in 1691.2
From 7 March 1685, her married name became Sackville. After her marriage, Mary Compton was styled as Countess of Dorset on 7 March 1685.

Frances Cranfield1

Frances Cranfield was born in 1622.2 She was the daughter of Lionel Cranfield, 1st Earl of Middlesex and Anne Brett.1,2 She married, secondly, Henry Powle, son of Henry Powle and Katherine Herbert.3 She married, firstly, Richard Sackville, 5th Earl of Dorset, son of Edward Sackville, 4th Earl of Dorset and Mary Curzon, in 1637.3 She died in 1687.2
Her married name became Powle. From 1637, her married name became Sackville. After her marriage, Frances Cranfield was styled as Countess of Dorset on 18 July 1652.
