     Lord Rupert Charles Montecute Nevill was born on 29 January 1923.¹ He was the son of Major Guy Temple Montacute Larnach-Nevill, 4th Marquess of Abergavenny and Isabel Nellie Larnach.¹ He married Lady Anne Camilla Evelyn Wallop, daughter of Gerard Vernon Wallop, 9th Earl of Portsmouth and Mary Lawrence Post, on 22 April 1944.¹ He died on 19 July 1982 at age 59.¹
     He was given the name of Rupert Charles Montacute Larnach-Nevill at birth.¹ He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Life Guards.¹ His name was legally changed to Rupert Charles Montacute Nevill.¹ He was Aide-de-Camp to Sir Brian Horricks between 1945 and 1947.¹ He was Vice-President of Sussex Boy Scouts between 1950 and 1974.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Sussex in 1952.¹ He was commander of the Sussex St. Johns Council between 1952 and 1977.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for East Sussex in 1953.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of East Sussex in 1960.¹ He was Chairman of the British Olympics Association between 1966 and 1977.¹ He held the office of Treasurer to HRH the Duke of Edinburgh between 1970 and 1982.¹ He was Vice-Chairman of Sun Life Assurance Society between 1971 and 1982.¹ He was appointed Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.) in 1972.¹ He was President of the British Show Jumping Associaiton between 1973 and 1976.¹ He was President of East Sussex Boy Scouts between 1974 and 1982.¹ He held the office of Private Secretary to HRH the Duke of Edinburgh between 1976 and 1982.¹ He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1978.¹

     Lady Anne Camilla Evelyn Wallop was born on 12 July 1925.² She was the daughter of Gerard Vernon Wallop, 9th Earl of Portsmouth and Mary Lawrence Post.^1,2 She married Lord Rupert Charles Montecute Nevill, son of Major Guy Temple Montacute Larnach-Nevill, 4th Marquess of Abergavenny and Isabel Nellie Larnach, on 22 April 1944.¹ She died on 25 January 2023 at age 97.³
     Lady Anne Camilla Evelyn Wallop usually went by her middle name of Camilla.² She was educated at Longstowe Hall, Longstowe, Cambridgeshire, England^G.² She fought in the Second World War.² She gained the rank of officer in the Women’s Royal Naval Reserve.² From 22 April 1944, her married name became Nevill.¹ She was member of the Reviewing Committee of the Export of Works of Art between 1982 and 1986.²

     Alison Mary Deirdre Reid was born in 1931 at Marylebone, London, England.³ She is the daughter of Ronald William Reid and Elinor Mary Stuart.^1,3 She married Neil Archibald Primrose, 7th Earl of Rosebery, son of Albert Edward Harry Mayer Archibald Primrose, 6th Earl of Rosebery and Hon. Eva Isabel Marion Bruce, on 22 January 1955.¹
     Alison Mary Deirdre Reid usually went by her middle name of Deirdre.¹ Her married name became Primrose. After her marriage, Alison Mary Deirdre Reid was styled as Countess of Rosebery on 30 May 1974.

     Guy Rupert Gerard Nevill was born on 29 March 1945.¹ He was the son of Lord Rupert Charles Montecute Nevill and Lady Anne Camilla Evelyn Wallop.¹ He married Lady Beatrix Mary Lambton, daughter of Lord Antony Claude Frederick Lambton and Belinda Bridget Blew-Jones, on 18 February 1982.¹ He died on 5 February 1993 at age 47.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He held the office of Page of Honour to HM Queen Elizabeth II between 1958 and 1961.¹

     Lady Mary Sackville was the daughter of Thomas Sackville, 1st Earl of Dorset and Cecily Baker.¹ She married Henry Neville, 7th Lord Abergavenny, son of Edward Neville, 6th Lord Abergavenny and Rachel Lennard, before 1601.¹
     From before 1601, her married name became Neville.¹

     Thomas Sackville, 1st Earl of Dorset was born between 1527 and 1536.³ He was the son of Sir Richard Sackville and Winifred Brydges. He married Cecily Baker, daughter of Sir John Baker and Elizabeth Dineley, in 1555.³ He died on 19 April 1608.³
     He held the office of Ambassador to the States in the Low Countries, in revolt against Spain.³ He was admitted to Inner Temple entitled to practise as a barrister.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westmorland in 1557/58.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Grinstead in 1559.³ He wrote the book ‘Induction’ and the ‘Complaint of Buckingham’ in the edition of A Mirror for Magistrates (anthology of didactic poetry) and Acts IV and V (Thomas Norton being responsible for Acts I–III, or so the 1st edn of 1565 claims) of Gorboduc, published 1563.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Aylesbury between 1563 and 1567.³ He was appointed Knight in 1567.³ He was created 1st Baron of Buckhurst, co. Sussex [England] on 8 June 1567.⁴ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) between February 1582 and 1595/96.³ He held the office of Joint Lord-Lieutenant of Sussex between 1587 and 1608.³ He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1589.³ He held the office of Chancellor of Oxford University between 1591 and 1608.³ He held the office of Joint Commissioner of the Great Seal from 1591 to 1592.³ He held the office of Lord High Treasurer [England] between 1599 and 1608.¹ He was created 1st Earl of Dorset [England] on 13 March 1603/4.⁴

     Catherine Vaux was born after 1592.¹ She was the daughter of Hon. George Vaux and Hon. Elizabeth Roper.¹ She married Henry Neville, 7th Lord Abergavenny, son of Edward Neville, 6th Lord Abergavenny and Rachel Lennard, before 1616.¹ She died circa 7 July 1649. She was buried on 10 July 1649 at Birling, Kent, England^G.¹
     From before 1616, her married name became Nevill.¹ After her marriage, Catherine Vaux was styled as Baroness Bergavenny on 1 December 1622.

     John Neville, 8th Lord Abergavenny was born circa 1614. He was the son of Henry Neville, 7th Lord Abergavenny and Catherine Vaux. He married Elizabeth Chamberlaine, daughter of John Chamberlaine and Katharine Plowden.¹ He died on 23 October 1662, without issue.²
     He succeeded as the 8th Lord Abergavenny [E., 1450] circa December 1641.¹ His last will was dated 2 August 1661.²

     George Neville, 9th Lord Abergavenny was born after 1614. He was the son of Henry Neville, 7th Lord Abergavenny and Catherine Vaux.¹ He married Mary Gifford, daughter of Dr. Thomas Gifford and Anne Brooksby.¹ He died on 2 June 1666.¹ He was buried on 14 June 1666 at Birling, Kent, England^G.¹ His will was proven (by probate) on 16 July 1666.¹
     He succeeded as the 9th Lord Abergavenny [E., 1450] on 23 October 1662.¹ His last will was dated 18 May 1666.

     Mary Gifford was the daughter of Dr. Thomas Gifford and Anne Brooksby.¹ She married, firstly, George Neville, 9th Lord Abergavenny, son of Henry Neville, 7th Lord Abergavenny and Catherine Vaux.¹ She married, secondly, Sir Charles Shelley, 2nd Bt., son of Sir William Shelley and Christiana Maria Vantelet, after 1666.¹ She died between 10 November 1669 and 13 November 1669. She was buried on 14 November 1699 at St. Pancras, London, England^G.¹ Her will was proven (by probate) on 22 November 1699.¹
     After her marriage, Mary Gifford was styled as Baroness Bergavenny on 23 October 1662. From before 1665, her married name became Neville.¹ From after 1666, her married name became Shelley.¹ Her last will was dated 10 November 1699.
