     Her married name became Cary.

     Thomas Gair Ashton, 1st Baron Ashton of Hyde was born on 5 February 1855 at Ashfield, Fallowfield, Lancashire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Thomas Ashton and Elizabeth Gair.¹ He was baptised on 14 March 1855 at Hyde, Cheshire, England^G.¹ He married Eva Margaret James, daughter of John Henry James and Jane Ramsden Ashworth, on 2 December 1886 at All Saints Church, Ennismore Gardens, London, England^G.¹ He died on 1 May 1933 at age 78 at Robertsbridge, Sussex, England^G.¹ He was buried on 4 May 1933 at Hyde Chapel, Cheshire, England^G.¹
     He was educated between 1868 and 1874 at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England^G.¹ He was educated between 1874 and 1877 at University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cheshire.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Sussex.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Cheshire, Hyde Division between 1885 and 1886.¹ In 1886 he unsuccessfully contested the seat of Hyde.¹ In 1892 he unsuccessfully contested the seat of Hyde.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bedfordshire, Luton Division between 1895 and 1911.¹ He was created 1st Baron Ashton of Hyde, co. Chester [U.K.] on 28 June 1911.¹ He was Honorary Fellow of Oxford University in 1923.²
     The Times wrote that “in Parliament Ashton followed the example of his family, shared generally the opinions of his distinguished brother-in-law, James Bryce, and inherited, as an economist and free-trader, the clear traditions of the Manchester School … In the House of Commons he was always popular, and he gained weight and authority as the years went on.”¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.³
     

     Major Philip John Sherwin Pearson-Gregory was the son of Thomas Sherwin Pearson-Gregory and Mabel Laura Payne.² He married, firstly, Marcia Emma Ridley, daughter of Arthur William Ridley and Adriana Elizabeth Newton, on 17 October 1911 at Mayfair, London, England^G.³ He married, secondly, Hon. Lettice Cary, daughter of Lt.-Col. Byron Plantagenet Cary, 12th Viscount of Falkland and Mary Reade, on 26 January 1937.¹ He died on 12 June 1955.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the Grenadier Guards.² He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹

     Lady Mary Octavia Somerset was born on 16 July 1814.^1,2 She was the daughter of Henry Charles Somerset, 6th Duke of Beaufort and Lady Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower.¹ She married Sir Walter Rockcliffe Farquhar, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Thomas Harvie Farquhar, 2nd Bt. and Sybella Martha Rockcliffe, on 28 November 1837.³ She died on 7 September 1906 at age 92.³
     Her married name became Farquhar.

     Sir Walter Rockcliffe Farquhar, 3rd Bt. was born on 4 June 1810.² He was the son of Sir Thomas Harvie Farquhar, 2nd Bt. and Sybella Martha Rockcliffe.² He married Lady Mary Octavia Somerset, daughter of Henry Charles Somerset, 6th Duke of Beaufort and Lady Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower, on 28 November 1837.² He died on 15 July 1900 at age 90.²
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Farquhar [G.B., 1796] on 12 January 1836.² He held the office of High Sheriff of Surrey in 1859.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Middlesex.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Surrey.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey.² He lived at Cadogan House, London, England^G.²

     General Henry Otway Trevor, 21st Lord Dacre was born on 27 July 1777 at The Hoo, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Thomas Brand and Gertrude Roper, Baroness Dacre.¹ He married Pyne Crosbie, daughter of Very Rev. Hon. Maurice Crosbie and Pyne Cavendish, on 24 July 1806 at St. George’s Hanover Square, London, England^G.² He died on 2 June 1853 at age 75 at London, England^G.²
     He was given the name of Henry Otway Brand at birth.¹ He fought in the Battle of Copenhagen in 1807.¹ He was commander of the 1st Battalion, Coldstream Guards between 1808 and 1812.¹ He fought in the Peninsular Wars.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1815.¹ On 18 November 1824 his name was legally changed to Henry Otway Trevor by Royal Licence.² He gained the rank of Colonel between 1847 and 1853 in the 31st Foot.¹ He gained the rank of General in 1851.¹ He succeeded as the 21st Lord Dacre [E., 1321] on 21 March 1851.¹

     Sarah Davy was the daughter of William Davy.² She married Washington Shirley, 8th Earl Ferrers, son of Robert Shirley, 6th Earl Ferrers and Catherine Cotton, on 29 September 1829.¹ She died on 30 June 1835.¹
     After her marriage, Sarah Davy was styled as Countess Ferrers on 29 September 1829. From 29 September 1829, her married name became Shirley.

     Frances Bathurst was the daughter of Peter Bathurst and Lady Selina Shirley.¹ She married Anthony Duncombe, 1st and last Lord Feversham, Baron of Downton, son of Anthony Duncombe and Jane Cornwallis, in November 1756.¹ She died on 21 November 1757.¹
     From November 1756, her married name became Duncombe.
