Julia Bosville was the daughter of Godfrey Bosville.1 She married William Ward, 3rd Viscount Dudley and Ward of Dudley, son of John Ward, 1st Viscount Dudley and Ward of Dudley and Mary Carver, on 1 August 1780.1 She died on 23 June 1833.1

John William Ward, 1st and last Earl of Dudley of Dudley Castle was born on 9 August 1781.1 He was the son of William Ward, 3rd Viscount Dudley and Ward of Dudley and Julia Bosville.1 He died on 6 March 1833 at age 51, unmarried.1
He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1802 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Downton from 1802 to 1803.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Worcester between 1803 and 1806.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Petersfield between 1806 and 1807.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Wareham between 1807 and 1812.1 He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1818 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Bossiney between 1819 and 1823.1 He succeeded as the 9th Baron Ward of Birmingham, co. Warwick [E., 1644] on 25 April 1823.1 He succeeded as the 4th Viscount Dudley and Ward of Dudley, co. Worcester [G.B., 1763] on 25 April 1823.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1827.1 He held the office of Foreign Secretary between 1827 and 1828.1 He was created 1st Viscount Ednam, of Ednam, co. Robburgh [U.K.] on 5 October 1827.1 He was created 1st Earl of Dudley of Dudley Castle [U.K.] on 5 October 1827.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)1
On his death, the titles of Earl of Dudley, Viscount Ednam and Ward became extinct, while the Barony of Ward devolved on his second cousin.1
