     James Ludovic Grant was baptised on 7 February 1767 at Forres, Morayshire, ScotlandG.2 He was also reported to have been born on 7 February 1765.3 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Francis Grant and Catherine Sophia Cox.4 He married Ann Bazett.1 He died circa 1826, at sea off Ceylon.1
     He inherited from his father the estate of Windmill Hill, Farnborough.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.3 He gained the rank of Commander in the Honourable East India Company Service.3 He was chairman of Mr Winsor’s Committee for Gas Lighting in 1807.3 He was Governor of the Gas Light and Coke Company in 1812.3 He was Master Attendant in the Honourable East India Company Service Madras between 1821 and 1827.3 He was Captain of the Brunswick and London, with the East India Company Service Service.1

     Major Charles Thomas Grant of Grant was baptised on 7 November 1770 at Wokingham, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Francis Grant and Catherine Sophia Cox.3 He married, firstly, Hannah (?)4 He married, secondly, Hon. Emilia Sophia Cary, daughter of Lucius Ferdinand Cary, Master of Falkland and Anna Maria Leith, on 24 August 1798.1 He died circa 1831.4
     He gained the rank of Paymaster in the Royal Scots.4 He gained the rank of Captain in 1823 in the Nizam’s Army.4

     Hon. Emilia Sophia Cary was born on 26 March 1776.2 She was the daughter of Lucius Ferdinand Cary, Master of Falkland and Anna Maria Leith.1 She was baptised on 30 April 1776 at St. James’, Westminster, London, England.2 She married Major Charles Thomas Grant of Grant, son of Lt.-Gen. Francis Grant and Catherine Sophia Cox, on 24 August 1798.1
     From 24 August 1798, her married name became Grant. In 1834 she was granted the rank of a viscount’s daughter.1

     Charlotte Sophia Digby was born in 1767.1 She was the daughter of Very Rev. Hon. William Digby and Charlotte Cox.1 She married Sir John Sheffield, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Charles Herbert Sheffield, 1st Bt. and Margaret Diana Sabine, on 3 April 1784.2 She died on 15 December 1835.2
     From 3 April 1784, her married name became Sheffield.

     Sir John Sheffield, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1743.2 He is the son of Sir Charles Herbert Sheffield, 1st Bt. and Margaret Diana Sabine.1,3 He married Charlotte Sophia Digby, daughter of Very Rev. Hon. William Digby and Charlotte Cox, on 3 April 1784.2 He died on 4 February 1815, without issue.2
     He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Sheffield, of Normanby, co. Lincoln [G.B., 1755] on 5 September 1774.2
