George William Evelyn-Leslie, 13th Earl of Rothes was born on 28 March 1768.1 He was the son of George Raymond Evelyn and Jane Elizabeth Leslie, Countess of Rothes.3 He married, firstly, Hon. Henrietta Anne Pelham, daughter of Thomas Pelham, 1st Earl of Chichester and Anne Frankland, on 24 May 1789.4 He married, secondly, Charlotte Julia Campbell, daughter of Colonel John Campbell of Dunoon, in 1798.1 He died in 1817.3
He was given the name of George William Evelyn at birth.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at St. John’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He succeeded as the 13th Earl of Rothes [S., 1458] in 1810.1 He succeeded as the 13th Lord Leslie [S., 1445] in 1810.1 He was appointed Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1812 and 1817.1

Charlotte Julia Campbell was baptised on 26 June 1769 at Blunham, Bedfordshire, England.2 She was the daughter of Colonel John Campbell of Dunoon.3 She married George William Evelyn-Leslie, 13th Earl of Rothes, son of George Raymond Evelyn and Jane Elizabeth Leslie, Countess of Rothes, in 1798.3 She died on 21 May 1846 at age 76.3
From 1798, her married name became Evelyn-Leslie. After her marriage, Charlotte Julia Campbell was styled as Countess of Rothes in 1810.
