     Lady Amelia de Nassau was born in 1635.2 She was the daughter of Louis de Nassau, Herr van der Leck and Beverwaerde and Countess Isabella of Hornes.1,4 She married Thomas Butler, 6th Earl of Ossory, son of James Butler, 1st Duke of Ormonde and Elizabeth Preston, Baroness Dingwall, on 17 November 1659.5 She died circa 24 January 1684.6 She was buried on 27 January 1684.6
     From 17 November 1659, her married name became Butler. After her marriage, Lady Amelia de Nassau was styled as Countess of Ossory on 8 August 1662.

Richard Preston, 1st Earl of Desmond1

     Richard Preston, 1st Earl of Desmond married Lady Elizabeth Butler, daughter of Thomas Butler, 10th Earl of Ormonde and Hon. Elizabeth Sheffield, after December 1613.2 He died on 28 October 1628, without surviving male issue.3
     He was created 1st Lord Dingwall, of co. Ross [Scotland] on 8 June 1609.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.)4 He was created 1st Baron Dunmore, co. Kilkenny [Ireland] on 11 July 1619.4 He was created 1st Earl of Desmond [Ireland] on 24 July 1619.1 He held the office of Gentleman of the Bedchamber to King James I.4 He was created 1st Earl of Desmond [Ireland] on 7 November 1622, with special remainder in reversion to his prospective son-in-law, George Feilding.4 He lived at Halltree, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.4 On his death, his earldom of 1622 and the barony of Dunmore became extinct.4

Lady Mary Caroline Grey1

     Lady Mary Caroline Grey was the daughter of Lt.-Gen. Hon. Charles Grey and Caroline Eliza Farquhar.1,2 She married Gilbert John Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 4th Earl of Minto, son of William Hugh Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 3rd Earl of Minto and Emma Eleanor Elizabeth Hislop, on 28 July 1883.3 She died on 14 July 1940.3
     She was appointed Imperial Order of the Crown of India (C.I.)3 She was appointed Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.)3 Her married name became Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound. She held the office of Extra Lady of the Bedchamber to HM Queen Mary.3 After her marriage, Lady Mary Caroline Grey was styled as Countess of Minto on 17 March 1891. On 16 April 1895 she was granted the rank of an earl’s daughter.3

     Victor Gilbert Lariston Garnet Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 5th Earl of Minto was born on 12 February 1891.1 He was the son of Gilbert John Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 4th Earl of Minto and Lady Mary Caroline Grey.1 He married Marion Cook, daughter of George William Cook, on 19 January 1921. He died on 11 January 1975 at age 83.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Scots Guards.1 He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Elliot, of Headshaw [N.S., 1700] on 1 March 1914.1 He succeeded as the 5th Viscount Melgund, of Melgund, co. Forfar [U.K., 1813] on 1 March 1914.1 He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Minto, co. Roxburgh [U.K., 1813] on 1 March 1914.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Minto of Minto, co. Roxburgh [G.B., 1797] on 1 March 1914.1 He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor-General of Canada between 1918 and 1919.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Roxburghshire in 1924.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Roxburghshire in 1942.1

     Lady Ruby Florence Mary Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound was born on 26 September 1886.1 She was the daughter of Gilbert John Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 4th Earl of Minto and Lady Mary Caroline Grey.1 She was baptised on 19 November 1886 at Chapel Royal, Whitehall, London, EnglandG.1 She married Rowland Thomas Baring, 2nd Earl of Cromer, son of Major Rt. Hon. Evelyn Baring, 1st Earl of Cromer and Ethel Errington, on 4 April 1908 at St. Margaret’s Church, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 5 November 1961 at age 75.2
     Her married name became Baring. After her marriage, Lady Ruby Florence Mary Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound was styled as Countess of Cromer on 29 January 1917. She was appointed Dame Grand Cross, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (G.C.St.J.)3

     Lady Violet Mary Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound was born on 28 May 1889.2 She was the daughter of Gilbert John Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 4th Earl of Minto and Lady Mary Caroline Grey.1,2 She married, firstly, Major Lord Charles George Francis Mercer Nairne Petty-FitzMaurice, son of Henry Charles Keith Petty-FitzMaurice, 5th Marquess of Lansdowne and Lady Maud Evelyn Hamilton, on 20 January 1909.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. John Jacob Astor, 1st Baron Astor of Hever, son of William Waldorf Astor, 1st Viscount Astor and Mary Dahlgren Paul, on 28 August 1916.1 She died on 3 January 1965 at age 75.1
     From 20 January 1909, her married name became Nairne. From 28 August 1916, her married name became Astor. She was appointed Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.St.J.)3 After her marriage, Lady Violet Mary Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound was styled as Baroness Astor of Hever on 21 January 1956.

     Marion Cook was the daughter of George William Cook.1 She married Victor Gilbert Lariston Garnet Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 5th Earl of Minto, son of Gilbert John Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 4th Earl of Minto and Lady Mary Caroline Grey, on 19 January 1921. She died on 16 January 1974.1
     After her marriage, Marion Cook was styled as Countess of Minto on 19 January 1921. From 19 January 1921, her married name became Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound. She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1956.1
