Hon. Pauline Astor was born in 1880.3 She was the daughter of William Waldorf Astor, 1st Viscount Astor and Mary Dahlgren Paul.1 She married Lt.-Col. Rt. Hon. Herbert Henry Spender Clay, son of Joseph Spender Clay and Elizabeth Sydney Jane Garrett, on 29 October 1904.1 She died on 5 May 1972.1
Her married name became Spender Clay. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey in 1920.1
