He married Lady Martha Cranfield, daughter of Lionel Cranfield, 1st Earl of Middlesex and Elizabeth Shepherd. He died in 1661.

General Albemarle Bertie, 9th Earl of Lindsey was born on 17 September 1744.1 He was the son of Peregrine Bertie and Elizabeth Payne.1 He married, firstly, Eliza Maria Clay, daughter of William Clay, on 7 May 1794.1 He married, secondly, Charlotte Susannah Elizabeth Layard, daughter of Very Rev. Charles Peter Layard and Elizabeth Ward, on 18 November 1809.1 He died on 17 September 1818 at age 74.1
He gained the rank of Colonel in 1794 in the 9th Foot.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Stamford between 1801 and 1809.1 He gained the rank of General in 1803.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1804 in the 77th Foot.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1808 in the 89th Foot.1 He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Lindsey, co. Lincoln [E., 1626] on 8 February 1809.1
