     Reverend Brownlow Villiers Layard was born on 19 January 1779.¹ He was the son of Very Rev. Charles Peter Layard and Elizabeth Ward.¹ He married, firstly, Louisa Port, daughter of John Port, on 6 October 1803.¹ He married, secondly, Sarah Jane Margary, daughter of Thomas Margary and Jane Clarkson, on 1 February 1821.¹ He died on 26 March 1861 at age 82.¹
