     Lt.-Col. Rt. Hon. Herbert Henry Spender Clay was born on 4 June 1875.³ He was the son of Joseph Spender Clay and Elizabeth Sydney Jane Garrett.⁴ He married Hon. Pauline Astor, daughter of William Waldorf Astor, 1st Viscount Astor and Mary Dahlgren Paul, on 29 October 1904.¹ He died on 15 February 1937 at age 61 at Dormansland, Essex, England.²
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Surrey.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) between 1910 and 1937.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1929.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey.² He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)¹ He lived at Ford Manor, Lingfield, Surrey, England^G.

     Katherine Juliet Bowes-Lyon was born on 4 July 1926.² She was the daughter of Hon. John Herbert Bowes-Lyon and Hon. Fenella Hepburn-Stuart-Forbes-Trefusis.³ She died on 23 February 2014 at age 87.¹
     She lived between 1941 and 1986 at Royal Earlswood Hospital, Surrey, England^G.⁴
     She was mentally impaired from birth.⁴
     Burkes Peerage had erroneously reported her as having died in 1961.⁴

     Hon. Charlotte Maria Barrington was born on 29 December 1826 at Shrivenham, Berkshire, England.² She was the daughter of William Keppel Barrington, 6th Viscount Barrington of Ardglass and Hon. Jane Elizabeth Liddell.³ She married Thomas George Lyon-Bowes, 12th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, son of Thomas George Lyon-Bowes, Lord Glamis and Charlotte Grimstead, on 30 April 1850 at Shrivenham, Berkshire, England^G.¹ She died on 3 November 1854 at age 27 at Florence, Italy, without issue.^2,1
     After her marriage, Hon. Charlotte Maria Barrington was styled as Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne on 30 April 1850. From 30 April 1850, her married name became Lyon-Bowes.

     Mary Elizabeth Walsh was born in 1760.¹ She was the daughter of John Walsh and Elizabeth (?)¹ She married George Carpenter.¹
     Her married name became Carpenter.¹

     Eliza Northcote is the daughter of Colonel unknown Northcote.¹ She married Thomas Lyon-Bowes, 11th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, son of John Bowes, 9th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and Mary Eleanor Bowes, in 1812.¹
     From 1812, her married name became Lyon-Bowes.

     Marianna Cheape was the daughter of John Cheape of Sauchie.¹ She married, firstly, Sir Alexander Campbell of Ardkinglass, 4th Bt. before 1817.¹ She married, secondly, Thomas Lyon-Bowes, 11th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, son of John Bowes, 9th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and Mary Eleanor Bowes, on 8 December 1817.¹ She died on 23 October 1849.¹ She was buried on 26 October 1849.
     Her married name became Campbell.¹ From 8 December 1817, her married name became Lyon-Bowes. After her marriage, Marianna Cheape was styled as Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne on 3 July 1820.

     Alexandre Tissot-Demidoff was born on 4 September 1956 at Geneva, Switzerland^G.¹ He is the son of Humbert Tissot and Marguerite Mendes y Teske.¹ He married Catherine Ann Menne on 14 June 1986 at Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.^G.¹

     Rt. Hon. Sir William Hutt married, firstly, Mary Milner, daughter of J. Milner, on 16 March 1831.² He married, secondly, Frances Anna Jane Stanhope, daughter of Major Hon. Sir Francis Charles Stanhope and Hannah Wilson, on 15 June 1861.¹ He died on 24 November 1882.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Gateshead.¹ He was Paymaster-General.¹ He was Vice-President of the Board of Trade.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)¹

     Mary Gilbert was the daughter of Edward Gilbert. She married George Bowes, son of Sir William Bowes and Elizabeth Blakiston, in June 1743.¹ She died in 1781.¹
     From June 1743, her married name became Bowes.¹

     Thomas Lyon, 8th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne was baptised on 6 July 1704.¹ He was the son of John Lyon, 4th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and Lady Elizabeth Stanhope.¹ He married Jean Nicholson, daughter of James Nicholson and Anne Allan, on 20 July 1736 at Houghton-le-Spring, County Durham, England^G.¹ He died on 18 January 1753 at age 48.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Forfarshire from 1734 to 1735.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne [S., 1677] on 4 January 1735.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Lord Lyon and Glamis [S., 1606] on 4 January 1735.¹ He succeeded as the 15th Lord Glamis [S., 1445] on 4 January 1735.¹
