He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.2 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He was a practising barrister.2 He was trustee of the National Portrait Gallery between 1916 and 1930.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Cook, of Doughty House, Richmond, Surrey [U.K., 1886] on 21 May 1920.2 He was trustee of the National Gallery between 1923 and 1930.2 He succeeded as the 3° Visconde de Monserrate, Cintra [Portugal] on 21 May 1930.2 He was chairman of Cook, Son & Company (St Paul’s) Ltd.2 He wrote the book Giorgione, Reviews and Appreciations, and other works on art criticism, published 1931.2
