     Robert Algernon Smith-Dorrien was born on 2 October 1814 at Ashlyn’s Hall, Great Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, England^G.² He was the son of James Smith and Mary Isabella Pechell.² He married Mary Ann Drever, daughter of Thomas Drever and Mary Anne Dorrien, on 9 February 1845.² He died in 1879.²
     He was given the name of Robert Algernon Smith at birth.² He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Light Dragoons and 16th Lancers.¹ He was Colonel of the Hertfordshire Militia.¹ In 1845 his name was legally changed to Robert Algernon Smith-Dorrien by Royal Licence.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Haresfoot, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, England.¹

     James Smith was born on 3 September 1768.² He was the son of Samuel Smith and Elizabeth Watson.² He married, firstly, Frances Arbuthnot, daughter of John Arbuthnot and Anne Stone, on 4 July 1799.² He married, secondly, Mary Isabella Pechell, daughter of Augustus Pechell and Sarah Drake, on 23 December 1803.² He died on 16 February 1843 at age 74.²
     He held the office of High Sheriff of Hertfordshire in 1831.²

     Mary Isabella Pechell was the daughter of Augustus Pechell and Sarah Drake.^1,2 She married James Smith, son of Samuel Smith and Elizabeth Watson, on 23 December 1803.¹ She died on 14 February 1823.¹
     From 23 December 1803, her married name became Smith.¹

     Mary Ann Drever was born on 25 January 1825 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Drever and Mary Anne Dorrien.^1,2 She married Robert Algernon Smith-Dorrien, son of James Smith and Mary Isabella Pechell, on 9 February 1845.¹ She died in 1909.¹
     From 9 February 1845, her married name became Smith-Dorrien.

     Thomas Drever married Mary Anne Dorrien, daughter of Thomas Dorrien.²
     He lived at Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, England.² He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹

     Edith Anna Maria Tower was born circa 1848 at Huntsmore Park, Essex, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of Christopher Theron Tower and Lady Sophia Frances Cust.¹ She married Thomas Algernon Smith-Dorrien-Smith, son of Robert Algernon Smith-Dorrien and Mary Ann Drever, on 8 April 1875.¹ She died in 1892 at Scilly Isles, England.^1,2
     From 8 April 1875, her married name became Smith-Dorrien-Smith.³

     Frances Ann Isabella Smith-Dorrien was born on 29 March 1847 at Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, England^G.² She was the daughter of Robert Algernon Smith-Dorrien and Mary Ann Drever.² She married Thomas William Tyrwhitt-Drake, son of Thomas Tyrwhitt-Drake and Elizabeth Julia Stratton, on 4 August 1874.³ She died on 20 October 1910 at age 63 at Hastings, Sussex, England.⁴
     From 4 August 1874, her married name became Tyrwhitt-Drake.

     Thomas William Tyrwhitt-Drake was born on 28 November 1849 at Faringhoe, Northamptonshire, England.^2,3 He was the son of Thomas Tyrwhitt-Drake and Elizabeth Julia Stratton.^4,3 He was baptised on 15 February 1850 at Faringhoe, Northamptonshire, England.³ He married Frances Ann Isabella Smith-Dorrien, daughter of Robert Algernon Smith-Dorrien and Mary Ann Drever, on 4 August 1874.² He died on 8 December 1900 at age 51, without issue.²
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Buckinghamshire.³ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Buckinghamshire.⁴ He lived at Shardeloes, Buckinghamshire, England.⁴

     Frederick Smith-Dorrien was born circa 1848 at Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, England^G.² He was the son of Robert Algernon Smith-Dorrien and Mary Ann Drever.² He died, in infancy.²
