James Graham, 6th Duke of Montrose was born on 1 May 1878 at 35 Chester Square, Pimlico, London, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Douglas Beresford Malise Ronald Graham, 5th Duke of Montrose and Violet Hermione Graham.3 He married Lady Mary Louise Douglas-Hamilton, daughter of William Alexander Louis Stephen Douglas-Hamilton, 12th Duke of Hamilton and Lady Mary Louise Elizabeth Montagu, on 14 June 1906.1 He died on 20 January 1954 at age 75.4

Henry Pelham Pelham-Clinton, 5th Duke of Newcastle-under-Lyne was born on 22 May 1811.1 He was the son of Henry Pelham Pelham-Clinton, 4th Duke of Newcastle-under-Lyne and Georgina Elizabeth Mundy.4 He married Lady Susan Harriet Catherine Hamilton, daughter of Alexander Hamilton, 10th Duke of Hamilton and Susan Euphemia Beckford, on 27 November 1832 at Hamilton Palace, Hamilton, ScotlandG.1 He and Lady Susan Harriet Catherine Hamilton were divorced on 14 August 1850.1 He died on 18 October 1864 at age 53.5
