He was educated at Queen’s College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Stonhouse, of Radley, Berkshire [E., 1670] circa 1700.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Berkshire between 1701 and 1733.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1713.1 He held the office of Comptroller of the Household from 1713 to 1714.1

Martha Stonhouse1

Martha Stonhouse was born on 28 August 1697.1 She was the daughter of Sir John Stonhouse, 3rd Bt. and Mary Mellish.3 She married Arthur Vansittart, son of Peter van Sittart and Susanna Sanderson, on 23 May 1723.4 She died on 13 June 1782 at age 84.4
From 23 May 1723, her married name became Vansittart.
