     Alexander MacLeod, 9th of Raasay is the son of John MacLeod, 2nd of Rigg.2 He married Catherine MacLeod, daughter of Sir Norman MacLeod, 1st of Berneray and Katherine Macdonald.1
     On 19 August 1692 he obtained a resignation from his cousins, Janet and Gelis, the heirs of line, and got a charter of the whole lands of Raasay, etc.1

Sir Norman MacLeod, 1st of Berneray1

     Sir Norman MacLeod, 1st of Berneray was the son of Sir Roderick Macleod, 15th of MacLeod and Isabella Macdonald.2 He married, secondly, Katherine Macdonald, daughter of Sir James ‘Mor’ Macdonald, 9th of Sleat, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Mackenzie.2 He married, firstly, Margaret MacKenzie, daughter of unknown MacKenzie of Lechslyne.2 He died on 3 March 1705.3
     He was appointed Knight in 1661 for services to the royalist cause.2 He obtained the lease of Berneray.2

     Malcolm MacLeod, 10th of Raasay is the son of Alexander MacLeod, 9th of Raasay and Catherine MacLeod.2 He married, firstly, Mary Mackenzie, daughter of Alexander Mackenzie, 3rd of Applecross and Anne Fraser.1 He married, secondly, Janet MacLeod of Osgaig in 1748.1
     In 1745 he joined in the Uprising at the head of a hundred of the MacLeods of Raasay, but he kept his eldest son out of the rising and conveyed the estates to him.1 He had four sons and four daughters by his second wife.1
