     Sir Roderick MacLeod, 1st of Talisker was born circa 1606.2 He was the son of Sir Roderick Macleod, 15th of MacLeod and Isabella Macdonald.3 He married, firstly, Mary Mackay, daughter of Donald Mackay, 1st Lord Reay and Barbara Mackenzie.1 He married, secondly, Mary Mackinnon, daughter of Sir Lachlan Mackinnon of Strathaird, 28th Chief of MacKinnon.1 He died in 1675.2
     He obtained the lease of Talisker.1 He was appointed Knight in 1661 for services to the royalist cause.1
