Aeneas Macdonald, 1st and last Lord Macdonell and Aross1 
In 1644 he was one of the first to join the royalist army.2 He adhered to Montrose throughout his Campaign.2 In 1651 he was forfeit.2 He unsuccessfully claimed the chiefship of Clanranald.2
He was created 1st Lord Macdonell and Aross [Scotland] on 20 December 1660. On his death, his peerage became extinct.2
