He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn on 11 November 1637.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bedfordshire between April 1640 and May 1640.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bedfordshire between January 1641 and December 1648.1 He was appointed Knight on 14 July 1641 at Whitehall Palace, Whitehall, London, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Warwickshire between 1656 and 1658.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Burgoyne, of Sutton, co. Bedford [E., 1641] in October 1657.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Bedfordshire from 1661 to 1662.1
