Limerick [I., 1717] on 4 August 1720.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Southwell, of Castle Mattress, co. Limerick [I., 1662] on 4 August 1720.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1726.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1734.1 He held the office of Governor of Limerick before 1762.1

Thomas Southwell, 1st Baron Southwell of Castle Mattress was born circa 1665.1 He was born at Castle Martin, County Limerick, IrelandG.3,4 He was the son of Richard Southwell and Lady Elizabeth O’Brien.1 He married Lady Meliora Coningsby, daughter of Thomas Coningsby, 1st Earl of Coningsby and Barbara Georges, on 8 August 1695 at Hope Under Dinmore, Herefordshire, EnglandG.5,4 He died on 4 August 1720.1
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Southwell, of Castle Mattress, co. Limerick [I., 1662] from 7 December 1680 to 1681.1 He was created 1st Baron Southwell of Castle Mattress, co. Limerick [Ireland] on 4 September 1717.1

Louth [I., 1616] on 28 October 1908.1 He held the office of Representative Peer [Ireland] between 1913 and 1957.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Irish Guards.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1919.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1935 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was Director-General of the Ministry of Economic Warfare between 1942 and 1945.1 He was awarded the Grand Officer, Order of Orange-Nassau of the Netherlands.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1945.1 He held the office of Speaker of the House of Lords between 1946 and 1957.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) Kathleen Pelham-Burn1 
Kathleen Pelham-Burn was the daughter of Charles Maitland Pelham-Burn and Isabella Romanes Russel.1,3 She married Henry Charles Ponsonby Moore, 10th Earl of Drogheda, son of Ponsonby William Moore, 9th Earl of Drogheda and Anne Tower Moir, on 3 March 1909.1 She and Henry Charles Ponsonby Moore, 10th Earl of Drogheda were divorced in 1922.1 She died on 18 March 1966.1
She succeeded as the Countess of Drogheda on 3 March 1909. From 3 March 1909, her married name became Moore.1 She was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1919.1
