Charles Garrett Ponsonby Moore, 11th Earl of Drogheda was born on 23 April 1910.1 He was the son of Henry Charles Ponsonby Moore, 10th Earl of Drogheda and Kathleen Pelham-Burn.1 He married Joan Eleanor Carr, daughter of William Henry Carr and Lillian Marie White, on 16 May 1935.1 He died in 1989.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1940 in the Royal Artillery, Territorial Army.1 He was on the Staff of the Ministry of Production between 1942 and 1945.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1946.1 He was managing director of The Financial Times between 1946 and 1972.1 He succeeded as the 11th Earl of Drogheda [I., 1661] on 22 November 1957.1 He succeeded as the 13th Viscount Moore of Drogheda [I., 1622] on 22 November 1957.1 He succeeded as the 13th Baron Moore of Mellefont, co. Louth [I., 1616] on 22 November 1957.1 He was awarded the Chevalier, Legion of Honour in 1961.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1964.1 He was awarded the Order of Merit of Italy.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1972.1 He was awarded the Grand Officer, Order of Leopold II of Belgium in 1974.1 He wrote the book Double Harness, published 1978, autobiography.1 He was director of Economist Newspapers Ltd.1 He was director of S Pearson Publishers.1 He was independent national director ofTimes Newspapers Holdings Ltd between 1983 and 1989.1

Louth [I., 1616] in 1989.3 He succeeded as the 12th Earl of Drogheda [I., 1661] in 1989.1
