Lady Louisa Lennox1

Lady Louisa Lennox was born on 24 December 1694.1 She was the daughter of Charles Lennox, 1st Duke of Richmond and Anne Brudenell.1 She married Vice-Admiral James Berkeley, 3rd Earl of Berkeley, son of Charles Berkeley, 2nd Earl of Berkeley and Hon. Elizabeth Noel, on 13 February 1711.1 She died on 15 January 1716/17 at age 22, from small pox.1 She was buried on 24 January 1716/17 at Berkeley, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.1 She died intestate and her estate was administered on 19 December 1719.1
From 13 February 1711, her married name became Berkeley. After her marriage, Lady Louisa Lennox was styled as Countess of Berkeley on 13 February 1711. She held the office of Lady of the Bechamber on 30 October 1714, to Caroline, Princess of Wales.1
Swift described her at her wedding “the chit is but 17 and is ill-natured, covetous, vicious and proud in extremes.”1

Robert Nugent, 1st Earl Nugent was born in 1702. He was the son of Michael Nugent and Mary Barnewall.3 He married, firstly, Lady Emilia Plunkett, daughter of Peter Plunkett, 4th Earl of Fingall and Frances Hales, on 14 July 1730.3,4 He married, secondly, Anne Craggs, daughter of James Craggs and Elizabeth Richards, on 23 March 1736.3,4 He married, thirdly, Elizabeth Drax, daughter of Henry Drax and Elizabeth Ernle, on 2 January 1757 at Springs Garden, St. Martin’s-in-the-Fields, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 14 October 1788.1 He was buried at Gosfield, Essex, England.3
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for St. Mawes in 1747.3 He was created 1st Baron Nugent, of Carlanstown, co. Westmeath [Ireland] on 19 January 1767.3 He was created 1st Viscount Clare [Ireland] on 19 January 1767.3 He was created 1st Earl Nugent [Ireland] on 27 June 1776, with special remainder to George Grenville Nugent.3 On his death, his barony and viscountancy became extinct.3
