     Arthur Saunders Gore, 3rd Earl of Arran of the Arran Islands was born on 20 July 1761.¹ He was the son of Arthur Saunders Gore, 2nd Earl of Arran of the Arran Islands and Hon. Catherine Annesley.¹ He married Mary Tyrell, daughter of Sir John Tyrell, 5th Bt. and Mary Crispe, on 29 December 1787.¹ He died on 20 January 1837 at age 75 at Arran Lodge, Bognor Regis, Sussex, England^G, without issue.² He was buried on 28 January 1837 at Felpham, Sussex, England^G.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Baltimore between 1783 and 1790.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for County Donegal between 1800 and 1806.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Sudley of Castle Gore, co. Mayo [I., 1758] on 8 October 1809.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Arran of the Arran Islands, co. Galway [I., 1762] on 8 October 1809.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Saunders, of Newtown Gore, co. Mayo [I., 1662] on 8 October 1809.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Saunders of Deeps, co. Wexford [I., 1758] on 8 October 1809.¹

     Mary Tyrell was born circa 1767.² She was the daughter of Sir John Tyrell, 5th Bt. and Mary Crispe.^1,2 She married Arthur Saunders Gore, 3rd Earl of Arran of the Arran Islands, son of Arthur Saunders Gore, 2nd Earl of Arran of the Arran Islands and Hon. Catherine Annesley, on 29 December 1787.¹ She died on 31 August 1832 at Bognor Regis, Sussex, England^G, without issue.² She was buried at Felpham, Sussex, England^G.²
     Her married name became Gore. She was a governess to Princess Charlotte of Wales.² After her marriage, Mary Tyrell was styled as Countess of Arran of the Arran Islands on 8 October 1809.
     She was described as a “leader in the fashionable world.”²

     Sir John Tyrell, 5th Bt. is the son of Sir John Tyrrell, 3rd Bt. and unknown daughter Cotton.
     He lived at Heron Hall, Essex, England^G.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Tyrell, of Heron Hall [E., 1666].¹

     Colonel Hon. William John Gore was born on 16 November 1767.² He was the son of Arthur Saunders Gore, 2nd Earl of Arran of the Arran Islands and Hon. Catherine Annesley.¹ He married Caroline Hales, daughter of Sir Thomas Pym Hales, 4th Bt. and Mary Heyward, on 30 May 1798.² He died on 15 January 1836 at age 68.¹
     He was Master of the Horse to the Lord-Lieutenant.¹
