Bedford [Great Britain] in 1763.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Canterbury between 1774 and 1780.2 He was created 1st Baron Newhaven, of Carrick Mayne, co. Dublin [Ireland] in 1776.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1776.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Gatton between 1780 and 1790.2 On his death, his titles became extinct.2
