     Donald ‘Gorm Mor’ Macdonald, 7th of Sleat was the son of Donald ‘Gormeson’ Macdonald, 6th of Sleat and Mary Maclean.1 He married, firstly, Margaret Macleod, daughter of Tormod MacLeod, 12th of MacLeod and Jill Maclean.2 He married, secondly, Mary Mackenzie, daughter of Sir Colin Mackenzie, 11th of Kintail and Barbara Grant.1 He died in December 1616, without issue.1
     Donald ‘Gorm Mor’ Macdonald, 7th of Sleat also went by the nick-name of Donald ‘Gorm Mor’ (or in English, ‘Big Blue-eyed.1‘) In 1600 Donald repudiated Margaret and sent her home to her brother.2
