     Sir John Frederick Shelley, 10th Bt. was born on 14 October 1884 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England^G.² He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir John Shelley, 9th Bt. and Marion Emma Benyon.³ He married, firstly, Nora Coleridge Boles, daughter of Francis James Coleridge Boles, on 17 April 1912.³ He married, secondly, Marianne Francis, daughter of Major Wolstan Francis, on 28 October 1953.³ He died on 8 March 1976 at age 91 at Shobrooke House, Crediton, Devon, England^G.⁴

     Jean Alington is the daughter of Vice-Admiral Argentine Hugh Alington.² She married Major Roger Alexander Howard, son of Vice-Admiral Ronald Howard and Ruth Evelyn Coryton, on 1 September 1944.¹
