David George Arbuthnot1 
David George Arbuthnot was born on 7 April 1905.3 He was the son of Major John Bernard Arbuthnot and Olive Blake.3 He married, firstly, Dorothy Elizabeth Kemeys-Tynte, Baroness Wharton, daughter of Charles Theodore Halswell Kemeys-Tynte, 8th Baron Wharton and Dorothy Ellis, on 17 May 1933.3 He and Dorothy Elizabeth Kemeys-Tynte, Baroness Wharton were divorced in 1946.3 He married, secondly, Barbara Margherita Chiappini, daughter of Francis William Cubitt Chiappini and Anna Augusta Jackson, on 25 April 1946.1 He died on 14 November 1985 at age 80.3
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.3 He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)3 He was appointed Fellow, Zoological Society (F.Z.S.) in 1940.3 He was appointed Commander, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.)3 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of South Africa between 1941 and 1942.3
