     Margaret Isabel Abel Smith was born in 1887 at London, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of Reginald Abel Smith and Hon. Margaret Alice Holland.¹

     Blanche Caroline Stewart was the daughter of Admiral Hon. Keith Stewart and Mary Caroline Fitzroy.¹ She married Admiral Sir William Houston Shaw-Stewart, son of Admiral Sir Houston Shaw-Stewart and Martha Miller, on 11 January 1872.¹ She died on 17 September 1927.¹
     From 11 January 1872, her married name became Shaw-Stewart.

     Admiral Sir William Houston Shaw-Stewart was born on 7 September 1822.² He was the son of Admiral Sir Houston Shaw-Stewart and Martha Miller.² He married, firstly, Catherine Elizabeth Coote, daughter of Eyre Coote and Elizabeth Rosetta Massy-Dawson, on 20 February 1850.² He married, secondly, Blanche Caroline Stewart, daughter of Admiral Hon. Keith Stewart and Mary Caroline Fitzroy, on 11 January 1872.² He died on 13 November 1902 at age 80.²
     He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)² He was Controller of the Navy between 1881 and 1885.² He was Commander-in-Chief of the Devonport.²

     Admiral Sir Houston Shaw-Stewart was born on 2 August 1791.² He was the son of Sir Michael Shaw-Stewart of Greenock and Blackhall, 5th Bt. and Catharine Maxwell.² He married Martha Miller, daughter of Sir William Miller of Glenlee, 2nd Bt. and Grizel Chalmers, in February 1818.¹ He died on 10 December 1875 at age 84.²
     He held the office of Lord of the Admiralty.² He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)² He was Governor of Greenwich Hospital.² He gained the rank of Admiral of the Fleet.² He gained the rank of Admiral in the Royal Navy.

     Martha Miller was the daughter of Sir William Miller of Glenlee, 2nd Bt. and Grizel Chalmers.² She married Admiral Sir Houston Shaw-Stewart, son of Sir Michael Shaw-Stewart of Greenock and Blackhall, 5th Bt. and Catharine Maxwell, in February 1818.¹ She died on 17 April 1870.¹
     From February 1818, her married name became Shaw-Stewart.

     Sir Michael Shaw-Stewart of Greenock and Blackhall, 5th Bt. was born on 10 February 1766.¹ He was the son of Houston Stewart-Nicolson and Margaret Porterfield.² He married Catharine Maxwell, daughter of Sir William Maxwell of Springkell, 3rd Bt. and Margaret Stewart, on 24 September 1787.¹ He died on 25 August 1825 at age 59.²
     He was given the name of Michael Stewart-Nicolson at birth.² He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Renfrewshire.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Stewart, of Greenock and Blackhall, co. Renfrew [N.S., 1667] on 7 August 1812.¹ On 7 September 1812 his name was legally changed to Michael Shaw-Stewart on inheriting the Greenock estate.²

     Ludovic Cant lived at Thurston, East Lothian, Scotland^G.¹

     Anna Gertrude Haatz was born in 1760.¹ She was the daughter of Carl George Haatz.¹ She married James Balfour, son of John Balfour and Catherine Cant, in 1780.¹ She died in 1811.¹
     From 1780, her married name became Balfour.¹

     Sir William Miller of Glenlee, 2nd Bt. was born on 12 August 1755.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Miller of Glenlee, 1st Bt. and Margaret Murdoch.² He married Grizel Chalmers, daughter of George Chalmers, on 5 November 1777.¹ He died on 9 May 1846 at age 90.¹
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Miller, of Glenlee, Kirkcudbrightshire [G.B., 1788] on 27 September 1789.¹ He was styled as Lord Glenlee [Scottish Law Lord].¹ He held the office of Lord of Session.¹

     Louisa Wilhelmina Stewart was born on 6 July 1847.² She was the daughter of Admiral Hon. Keith Stewart and Mary Caroline Fitzroy.¹ She married Kyrle Alfred Chapman, son of David Barclay Chapman and Maria Chatfield, on 26 August 1869.¹ She died on 21 August 1938 at age 91.¹
     From 26 August 1869, her married name became Chapman.²
