Sir Walter George Stirling of Faskine, 3rd Bt. usually went by his middle name of George.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Horse Artillery.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery.3 He was Extra Groom-in-waiting to HM Queen Victoria between 1866 and 1901.2 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland between 1869 and 1874.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent.2 He was Governor to HRH Prince Leopold.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Northamptonshire.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Stirling, of Faskine [U.K., 1800] on 1 December 1888.2 On his death his baronetcy became extinct.2
