He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sligo County between 1831 and 1841.1 He held the office of Segeant-at-Arms of the House of Lords between 1841 and 1858.1 He lived at Temple House, County Sligo, Ireland.3
