After her marriage, Eliza Horatia Frederica Seymour was styled as Viscountess Clifden of Gowran on 23 September 1861. From 23 September 1861, her married name became Agar-Ellis. She held the office of Lady of the Bedchamber to HM Queen Victoria between 1867 and 1872.2 She held the office of Extra Lady of the Bedchamber to HM Queen Victoria in 1872.2 She was appointed Lady, Royal Order of Victoria and Albert (V.A.) 3rd Class.2 From 12 October 1875, her married name became Stirling.
Henry Greville described her as “lovely to behold, full of grace and graciousness of demeanour.”3
