     William Henry Courtenay was born circa 1788 illegitimately.^1,2 He was the son of William IV Hanover, King of the United Kingdom. He died on 1 February 1807 drowned when the Blenheim was lost off Mauritius with all hands.¹

     George Augustus Frederick Fitz-Clarence, 1st Earl of Munster was born illegitimately on 29 January 1794 at Somerset Street, London, England.^1,3 He was the son of William IV Hanover, King of the United Kingdom and Dorothea Bland.¹ He married Mary Wyndham, daughter of George O’Brien Wyndham, 3rd Earl of Egremont and Eliza Fox, on 18 October 1819.¹ He died on 20 March 1842 at age 48 at Upper Belgrave Street, London, England^G, committed suicide.⁴
     He was educated at Royal Military College, Marlow, Buckinghamshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Major-General.¹ He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King William IV between 1830 and 1837.¹ He held the office of Lieutenant of the Tower between 1831 and 1833.¹ He was created 1st Baron Tewkesbury, co. Gloucester [U.K.] on 4 June 1831, with a special remainder to his brothers by King William IV.¹ He was created 1st Earl of Munster [U.K.] on 4 June 1831, with a special remainder to his brothers by King William IV.¹ He was created 1st Viscount Fitz-Clarence [U.K.] on 4 June 1831, with a special remainder to his brothers by King William IV.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1833.¹ He held the office of Constable of Windsor Castle between 1833 and 1842.¹ He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria between 1837 and 1841.¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.⁵
     

     Dorothea Bland was born on 22 November 1761.⁴ She was the daughter of Francis Bland and Grace Phillips.^1,5 She died on 5 July 1816 at age 54.⁴
     She was also known as Dorothy Bland.⁵ She used the stage-name of Mrs. Jordan.⁵ She was one of the greatest actresses of her day, appearing in numerous tragic and comic roles in London and the provinces.⁵ Dorothea Bland was the mistress of Sir Richard Ford by whom she had three daughters.⁵ She and William IV Hanover, King of the United Kingdom were associated between 1790 and 1810.⁴ She also had a son and two daughters by Sir Richard Ford, and a daughter by Richard Daly.⁴

     Henry Edward Fitz-Clarence was born illegitimately on 27 March 1795 at Richmond, Surrey, England.^2,3 He was the son of William IV Hanover, King of the United Kingdom and Dorothea Bland.² He died in September 1817 at age 22, unmarried.²

     Lady Sophia Fitz-Clarence was born illegitimately in August 1796 at Somerset Street, London, England.^1,2 She was the daughter of William IV Hanover, King of the United Kingdom and Dorothea Bland.¹ She married Philip Charles Sidney, 1st Baron De L’Isle and Dudley of Penshurst, son of Sir John Shelley Sidney, 1st Bt. and Henrietta Hunloke, on 13 August 1825 at London, England^G.¹ She died on 10 April 1837 at age 40.¹
     From 13 August 1825, her married name became Sidney. On 24 May 1831 she was granted the rank of a marquess’ daughter.¹

     Lady Mary Fitz-Clarence was born illegitimately on 19 December 1798.¹ She was the daughter of William IV Hanover, King of the United Kingdom and Dorothea Bland.¹ She married General Charles Richard Fox, son of Henry Richard Vassall Fox, 3rd Baron Holland of Foxley and Elizabeth Vassall, on 19 June 1824.¹ She died on 13 July 1864 at age 65.¹
     From 19 June 1824, her married name became Fox. On 24 May 1831 she was granted the rank of a marquess’ daughter.¹

     Lt.-Gen. Lord Frederick Fitz-Clarence was born illegitimately on 9 December 1799.¹ He was the son of William IV Hanover, King of the United Kingdom and Dorothea Bland.¹ He married Lady Augusta Boyle, daughter of George Boyle, 4th Earl of Glasgow and Lady Augusta Hay, on 19 May 1821.¹ He died on 30 October 1854 at age 54.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 36th Foot.¹ On 24 May 1831 he was granted the rank of a marquess’ younger son.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Hanoverian Order (G.C.H.)¹

     Lady Elizabeth Fitz-Clarence was born illegitimately on 17 January 1801 at Busby House, Bushby, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.^2,3 She was the daughter of William IV Hanover, King of the United Kingdom and Dorothea Bland.² She married William George Hay, 18th Earl of Erroll, son of William Hay, 17th Earl of Erroll and Alicia Eliot, on 4 December 1820 at London, England^G.² She died on 16 January 1856 at age 54 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.²
     From 4 December 1820, her married name became Hay. After her marriage, Lady Elizabeth Fitz-Clarence was styled as Countess of Erroll on 4 December 1820. In 1831 she was granted the rank of a daughter of a Marquess.³

     Rear-Admiral Lord Adolphus Fitz-Clarence was born illegitimately on 18 February 1802 at Busby House, Bushby, Lanarkshire, Scotland.¹ He was the son of William IV Hanover, King of the United Kingdom and Dorothea Bland.¹ He died on 17 May 1856 at age 54, unmarried.¹
     On 24 May 1831 he was granted the rank of a marquess’ younger son.¹ He held the office of Naval Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Hanoverian Order (G.C.H.)¹ He held the office of Ranger of Windsor Home Park.¹
